🖤 JAMES R LAMOUREUX, CHARLESTON SOUTH CAROLINA, DIED 4/6/2024

Charleston, S.C. – James Richie Lamoureux, 82, beloved husband of Mary Lynn Lamoureux, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey. Born in Norwich, Conn. He was the son of the late Thomaston Lamoureux and Margarette Dugas Lamoureux. James served as a member of the U.S. Navy, retiring with over 20 years of service. After his military career, James lived life to the fullest. From traveling the entire eastern coastline by boat to long road trips from Vermont to Alaska, it was all done while listening to the Beatles and many other old hits with Mary Lynn, his best friend and wife of 46 years, by his side. He was an aviation enthusiast and a car racing fan. James had a passion for muscle cars and anything that was loud and fast. His true joy in life came from spending time with his family and friends. His entire adult life, he rose early in the morning to enjoy time with friends over coffee. He treasured their time together and their friendship deeply. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man who loved to laugh and who never met a stranger. He was a devoted husband who was proud of all of his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Mary Lynn, he is survived by two sons, Joseph of Richmond, and William of Great Falls, Mont.; a daughter, Sheila of Hobe Sound, Fla., one sister, Leanne Johanson of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and six grandchildren, Dustin, Andrea, Tayla, Hunter, Braeden, and Adriana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Andrea Lamoureux. An informal gathering to celebrate Jay and share stories will be held on Saturday, April 13th, 2024, from 12 – 2 p.m., at Bullock Funeral home. An inurnment will take place in the Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
