Janie Shives was born to Russel Victor Shives and Alice Shives in Prescott Ontario. Shirley met her former common-law spouse and father of her children David Roddick when he moved to Prescott from Peterborough in 1990. Janie was predeceased by her father Victor and her mother Alice as well as two step mothers Nellie Tyler (nee McDermott) and Phyllis Tyler (nee Sferrazza).
Also, previously leaving her family too soon, were her sister Linda Ross (Archie) and her brother John Tyler (Linda). Shirley is survived by her oldest brother Wayne Tyler. She was proud of her two children Zachary, Miranda. Visitation will be held at the MacKay Funeral Home, 416 Dibble St W, Prescott, ON K0E 1T0 on Thursday, April 28, from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Janie's life will take place Saturday April 30, at 2 pm.
